The Role
Oxfam Great Britain is seeking a Senior Privacy Analyst to join our Data Protection team on a maternity cover basis until June 2025. This role comes at an exciting time of growth and development as we work to raise awareness and support culture change regarding data and data rights throughout the organisation.
As a Senior Privacy Analyst, you will ensure compliance with data protection regulations, manage data protection risks, and handle data subject requests. You will also provide expert advice on data protection issues, conduct privacy impact assessments, and deliver training to staff to embed best practices across the organisation. Additionally, you will play a key role in helping us build and develop a network of local data protection focal points to extend our reach and ensure a consistent approach to data protection.

Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a privacy or data protection role, preferably within an large organisation.
- Proven track record of managing data privacy projects, including conducting privacy impact assessments and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations (such as GDPR).
- Experience in providing strategic advice and guidance on data protection matters to various stakeholders within an organisation.
Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR and other relevant privacy frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of information security principles and how they intersect with data protection.
- Awareness of the ethical considerations related to data privacy, particularly in a humanitarian or development context.
Competencies
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into practical advice and actionable policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex privacy concepts to non-expert audiences and engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, demonstrating respect for diversity and inclusion.
- High level of organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
