Department Purpose: To raise funds for Oxfam's work. Promote Oxfam's values through the shop network.
Job Purpose: To manage and develop the shop team; to deliver the agreed shop budget; to maximise the shop's contribution to Oxfam primarily to raise funds and secondarily to promote Oxfam's values.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of a Shop Manager is to maximise sales from all retail activities.
- Assist the District Retail Manager in preparation, achievement and monitoring of shop income and expenditure budgets.
- Be responsible for maximising profitability by:
- Ensuring appropriate levels of stock are available through effective management
- Ensuring sufficient stock is sorted, processed and on the shop floor to meet income targets
- Maintaining high standards of display and merchandising
- Ensuring regular rotation of stock
- Maintaining a realistic, location-appropriate, pricing structure in line with the Oxfam pricing guide
Other:
- Adhere to Oxfam's principles and values and promote gender justice and womenβs rights.

- Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the job as required.

Comments: This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires a dynamic, enthusiastic, flexible manager with excellent retail skills and first-class interpersonal skills. A flexible approach to working hours is required; Saturday working is a requirement of the role. At busy times the shop may be open 7 days a week and late nights as required. Occasional travel within Ireland may be required. The post involves working as part of a team in a busy environment. Flexibility and co-operation with colleagues are essential.
