We’re seeking friendly, reliable individuals aged 18 or over who want to make a difference in their community. No prior experience is needed – we provide full training. If you’re open to learning, enjoy working with others, and have a passion for helping people, you’ll fit right in! You have the time to become a volunteer in your community; you might be looking for work experience, the opportunity to meet new people, or stay active. By volunteering with us in one of our amazing bookshops you will be raising essential funds for Oxfam while learning new skills and meeting incredible people.

What you will be doing:

  • Undertake shop‑related tasks agreed with the Manager, e.g.: selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
  • Chat with customers and provide great service at the till.
  • Research valuable and vintage stock.
  • Visual merchandising: create eye‑catching window and in‑store displays.
  • Photograph and list items for the online shop.
  • Occasionally lift boxes – we prioritise a safe working environment and provide health and safety training.

The skills you need:

  • Reliable and punctual for volunteering sessions.
  • Full training and support are provided – no prior experience required.
  • Happy to be part of a team and collaborate effectively with others.
