We are looking for a motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the Management Accountant. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our financial operations. You will support the production of monthly management accounts, contribute to year-end reporting, and take day-to-day responsibility for a range of accounting tasks. You will also supervise our Accounts Payable Clerk, making this an excellent step forward for someone ready to take on greater responsibility. Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of accruals and prepayments.
- Assist the Management Accountant in reviewing the profit and loss account.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures.
- Review and reconcile supplier balances, resolving complex queries.
- Create intercompany invoices and reconcile trade balances.
- Supervise the Accounts Payable Clerk to ensure payment deadlines are met.
- Manage Associates payments and invoices, obtain PM approvals, and enter timesheets.
- Oversee company credit card transaction imports, submissions, and reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Submit statutory surveys.
- Deliver Finance and NetSuite inductions for new starters.
- Support ad-hoc initiatives as directed by management.
Person Specification
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy.
- Confident verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data management) and Word.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfortable receiving instruction and proactively seeking clarification where needed.
- Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
- Part-qualified (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or working towards a professional accounting qualification.
- Prior experience in a professional services environment.
