OxEd is a University of Oxford spinout company launched to take decades of research in language assessment and intervention through to practical application in schools. OxEd develops early education oral language assessment and intervention programmes, which have been shown through rigorous research to improve educational outcomes for children. We are a growing startup, working with Ministries of Education, channel partners and directly with Schools and Districts globally, with customers in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Paraguay and the Middle East. We are in the fortunate position of having established and robust research demonstrating the efficacy of our products.

As we look to expand our impact and deliver high-quality research, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join the School Success team at OxEd as a School Engagement Officer. This role will play a pivotal part in delivering a large-scale Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) focused on early language intervention in Reception classes across England. You will lead school recruitment and engagement, support trial operations, and ensure high-quality programme delivery. Acting as a key point of contact for participating schools, you’ll help shape the success of this landmark trial and contribute to improving educational outcomes for many thousands of children.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, mission-led team committed to improving educational outcomes for as many children as possible. This is a full-time role, fixed term until July 2027, working remotely in the UK. You must have the legal right to work in the UK. We offer 25 days annual leave. The salary for this role is £36k–£42k depending on experience.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Leading the recruitment and onboarding of schools into the trial, monitoring progress toward recruitment targets and reporting regularly.
  • Planning and delivering outreach activities, including webinars and targeted campaigns.
  • Representing OxEd at relevant educational events and conferences to promote the trial.
  • Nurturing school engagement through calls, emails, and webinars.
  • Maintaining oversight of trial documentation and data.
  • Managing day-to-day trial operations, including scheduling, communications, and troubleshooting, responding promptly to enquiries and following up on expressions of interest.
  • Ensuring fidelity to trial protocols and proactively addressing implementation challenges.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including schools, funders, and evaluators.
  • Preparing and distributing programme and trial materials and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Contributing to strategic planning, project updates, and evaluation activities.
