I'm working with a growing Northern Ireland technology company looking to bring in a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, established engineering team.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building products, taking ownership of technical decisions and having a genuine influence on how a platform evolves.
The business has an established product, an active customer base and ambitious plans for growth. They're now looking to strengthen their engineering capability as they move into their next stage.
The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a small team where engineers have real ownership rather than being restricted to individual parts of a system.
The role covers backend development, frontend applications, third-party integrations and cloud infrastructure. You’ll have the freedom to influence technical approaches, improve existing systems and help shape engineering practices as the team grows.
There’s also the opportunity to contribute to future hiring and play a part in building out the engineering function.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of features from initial design through to deployment and ongoing improvement.
- Building and maintaining scalable backend services, APIs and frontend applications.
- Working with external APIs and third-party integrations.
- Contributing to cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines and engineering best practices.
- Making architectural and technical decisions alongside the wider team.
- Helping improve development processes, code quality and system reliability.
What They’re Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Experience building production APIs and working with relational databases.
- Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.
- Good understanding of CI/CD, testing and modern software development practices.
- Comfortable taking ownership and working independently within a small engineering team.
- Experience with React or a similar frontend framework.
- Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
- Experience building and scaling SaaS platforms or other complex software products.
Why Consider It?
- Genuine technical ownership and influence over the product.
- Opportunity to shape engineering practices as the business grows.
- Broad technical exposure across frontend, backend and infrastructure.
- Established product with an active customer base.
- Equity in the business.
- Flexible working hours and holiday arrangements.
- Health and wellbeing benefits.
- Professional development budget and home office support.
Location: Belfast, hybrid working.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
If you’re a Full-Stack Engineer who enjoys ownership, variety and the opportunity to make a real impact in a growing business, I’d be happy to share more.
