OXBO are working with an established international renewable energy IPP who are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join their growing UK team based in London. This company is behind some of the most exciting utility-scale solar, battery storage, and hybrid energy projects across the UK and Europe. The Role
As Planning Manager, you’ll take responsibility for all planning and consenting activities across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects. You’ll work closely with the internal development team and external consultants to secure planning approvals efficiently and strategically.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full planning process from site selection through to consent
- Preparing, submitting and managing planning applications for renewable energy projects
- Coordinating EIAs, LVAs, and other technical reports with external consultants
- Engaging proactively with planning authorities, communities, and key stakeholders
- Supporting project design and optimisation from a planning and environmental perspective
- Advising on planning policy, risks, and mitigation strategies
About You
You’ll be a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) with a proven track record of successfully delivering planning consents for renewable or infrastructure projects. You’ll have strong communication and influencing skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to navigate complex planning challenges with confidence. You’ll likely bring:
- 4+ years’ experience in the UK planning system
- In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system and renewable energy policy
- Experience managing consultants and multi-disciplinary project teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving
