The Opportunity
We are working with a well-capitalised, fast-growing renewable energy developer to appoint a Senior Planning Manager as part of a major expansion of their UK solar pipeline. Backed by a globally recognised infrastructure investor, the business is rapidly scaling its private-wire solar portfolio and has an ambitious target to deliver 10–15 new ~5MW ground-mounted solar projects over the next 18 months. This is a high-impact role, working directly with a newly appointed Development Director, where you will play a key part in shaping projects from early-stage origination through to planning consent.
The Role
- Lead planning strategy across a growing pipeline of private-wire solar projects
- Undertake site screening, feasibility assessments, and planning risk analysis
- Manage the full planning lifecycle, from early engagement through to submission and determination
- Work closely with land, grid, and development teams to optimise site viability
- Engage with local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders
About You
- Strong background in UK planning, within renewable energy or infrastructure
- MRTPI accredited
- Experience working on solar or similar development projects (onshore wind, BESS, or large-scale infrastructure also relevant)
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
