The Company: OXBO are partnered with a fast-growing UK IPP delivering utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. As part of their continued growth, they’re looking for a Health and Safety Manager (QHSE).

What you will be doing:
- Lead QHSE from Client’s perspective across multiple battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
- Ensure all incidents and cases are recorded, tracked, and resolved effectively.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with QHSE standards.
- Support delivery teams in meeting safety, quality, cost, time, and risk objectives.
- Conduct site visits, audits, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Oversee commissioning quality processes (FAT/SAT/SIT) and non-conformance tracking.
- Produce reports for senior leadership and board-level review.
- Continuously improve QHSE systems, processes, and performance.
- Represent the business at stakeholder and industry events.
- General support of the delivery team and aiding in continuous improvement of QHSE processes.
What you will bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in QHSE within renewables, energy infrastructure, or construction.
- Experience across battery energy storage (BESS) or similar renewable technologies (highly desirable).
- NEBOSH (General or Construction) or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Strong understanding of QHSE systems, reporting, and compliance.
- Experience working with contractors, landowners, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-focused.
- Knowledge of UK grid connections and safety standards (desirable).
