Company: OXBO are delighted to be working with a leading UK based, multi-technology (Solar/BESS/Wind) renewable energy IPP to add a Technical Site Manager to their team in London. The successful candidate will be the project managers & engineers’ eyes and ears onsite regarding all the quality, technical and commissioning aspects of the construction, across multiple sites simultaneously. They will be involved in the technical follow-up of subcontractors, quality control, compliance, commissioning, testing, and inspecting. The role is a mix of administrative, managerial and technical (on-field) work.

Responsibilities:

  • Construction Supervision in collaboration with the construction site manager.
  • Resource Management, including material deliveries and equipment availability.
  • Inspect completed work, identify defects, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Liaise with other quality inspectors or engineers for compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor progress and scheduling, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact on-site.
  • Communicate site progress, issues, and changes to the project manager/engineering team.
  • Ensure that all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • Commissioning and testing of the solar farm and ensure handover to O&M.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: A degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or civil) or proven experience.
  • Certifications: health & safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, SMSTS) are highly valued. Other valuable certifications are SAP-33KV, 18th Edition, Test Engineer, Jointer certification.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of renewable energy systems and their grid integration, specifically solar PV systems and BESS technology.
  • Proven track record in commissioning & managing energy projects, particularly solar PV and BESS installations.
  • Site and contractor management, whilst demonstrating ability to deliver projects on time, up to the desired level of quality, within budget.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Experience working with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies (DNO’s, IDNO’s etc.).
  • Leadership, problem solving and communication skills.
