We’re currently recruiting for a Laboratory Support Assistant to join our Laboratory Management Team (LMT). In this role, you will carry out routine tasks to aid and support the smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the laboratory including waste management and stock control, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out the timely removal and decontamination of clinical waste from the laboratory suites ensuring a compliant working environment.
  • Preparing and maintaining disinfectant solutions to the correct concentration appropriate for use.
  • Collecting and cleaning used laboratory glassware and general laboratory items.
  • Maintaining consumable stock levels for the laboratories.
  • Regular cleaning of the laboratories and associated equipment.
  • Ensuring clear concise information is passed onto team members.
  • Being the point of contact for laboratory enquiries by Scientists regarding waste control and consumable requests.

We are looking for

  • A minimum of GCSE grade 4-9 in English and Mathematics or equivalent level.
  • A good standard of English both written and spoken.
  • The ability to follow standard operating procedures.
  • A team player with a positive willing approach.
  • Proactive and well organised.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • A good standard of computer literacy.
