Role Purpose:
The Planning Supervisor is responsible for leading the planning team ensuring the planning operation is completed in the most safe and efficient manner whilst maintaining excellent customer service performance.
Key duties:
- Monitoring and reviewing the daily plan to ensure the driver resource is utilised efficiently and that driver’s hours are utilised effectively to ensure maximum legal shift availability.
- Investigating all customer service performance issues in a timely manner, reporting findings and corrective actions to the Contract Operations Manager.
- Acting as the main planning contact for all Oxalis bitumen, emulsion and fuel oil clients, ensuring that any delivery issues are resolved.
- Continuously reviewing the team's performance and identifying any development needs, ensuring that assistance and support is offered when required, completing an annual performance review with the team and ensuring that all the planning team’s holiday and sickness absence is always covered.
- Developing and maintaining an excellent relationship between planning and driver colleagues.
Responsibilities:
The jobholder has a responsibility to coach, manage and motivate their team in order to reach their full potential. On Call and weekend cover on rota-basis.
Skills and Experience:
Our ideal candidate will have:
- An understanding of EU driver hours regulations and Working Time Directive.
- Proven planning experience.
- Strong Customer Service and communication skills.
- Excellent Geographical Knowledge.
- Ability to guide and manage a team.
- Be proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Office - Outlook and Excel.
- Have a good use of intuition and problem-solving skills for productive outcomes.
Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week to be worked between the hours of 8am and 6pm as agreed, Monday to Friday and every 4th weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
