Role Summary
The OTM is accountable for the Safe Service Delivery and cost-effective utilisation of Resource and equipment in their location. They will empower the Field Operations Team in their location to ensure that Employee and Industrial relations are managed constructively, ensuring that all business objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the annual SHEQ plan, ensuring strong governance, compliance, and a positive safety culture.
- Provide leadership, coaching and development to enable high team performance aligned to company values.
- Support the Regional OTM in maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction across contracts.
- Manage Industrial Relations effectively, engaging colleagues and Trade Unions to support operational delivery.
- Own the site P&L, controlling costs and supporting improvement initiatives with the Contract Manager and ROTM.
- Ensure robust operational processes covering safety, compliance, customer service and efficiency.
- Maintain full legal and regulatory compliance, including incident management and Operators Licence/Drivers Hours requirements.
- Plan and manage resources, recruitment, training, payroll accuracy, and employee relations processes in line with company policies
Working Hours:
Your contracted working hours will be 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) to be worked between the hours of 4am and 6pm Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
Requirements
Essential
- Have performed a role where large single site operational teams have been led to ensure a safety-first culture is embedded.
- Proven experience leading operational teams
- Experience working with both SME and blue-chip clients
- Demonstrated ability to manage industrial relations and engage with trade unions
- Deep understanding of transport compliance, including operator licensing and driver regulations
- Full detailed ownership, and experience of managing operational P&Ls
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cross-functional relationships
Desirable
- CPC qualification or equivalent transport industry certifications
- Experience in workforce planning and recruitment pipeline management
- Familiarity with incident investigation and control rota coverage
- Experience working with Trade Unions at local levels
