Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08.30-17.00 (37.5 hours per week) with one hour unpaid lunch break per day.
Summary of the role:
The Maintenance Controller is responsible for coordinating all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the trailer fleet via the Maintenance Control Centre in Huddersfield. This includes authorising repair work through approved agents using the Key2 Fleet Management System, ensuring repairs are appropriate to reported defects, and issuing purchase orders within set authorisation limits.
Key duties:
- Have a clear understanding of the Companies, Maintenance Policy, Warranty Policy, Breakdown and Recovery Policy and Maintenance Control Centre Service Level Agreement.
- Ensure rectification work required is carried out by the appropriate repair agent or manufacturer depending on warranty or non-warranty work.
- For unscheduled maintenance including accident damage repairs, handle calls from dealers requesting authority to carry out maintenance repair work.
- Receive estimates via the generic e-mail box, review estimates, validate repairs utilising the Jaama Key2 Fleet Management System ensuring no repeat work and maximising warranty opportunities for both parts and labour.
- Adjudicate and approve repair and maintenance content in line with standard repair times, Oxalis agreed parts discounts and in line with contracted dealer labour rates.
- In the event of repair authorisation for damage ensure appropriate photographic evidence is received and notification to spend is communicated to the relevant OTM.
- Liaise with Fleet Engineers where appropriate to ensure specific repair activity does not compromise safety or legal compliance.
Responsibilities:
The job holder has a responsibility to carry his/her duties in an efficient and conscientious manner. To assist the management of maintenance expenditure through the Maintenance Control Centre with circa £7.0m throughput of maintenance spend across approximately 500 trailers. The job holder will undertake appropriate operational, technical and commercial awareness training relating to the role.
