The Role: We’re looking for a highly organised and detail oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, takes ownership of their work and enjoys working collaboratively across departments. You’ll play a key role in supporting both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and strong financial controls.

What you’ll do:

  • Update and maintain customer accounts
  • Manage credit card payments and handle customer payment queries
  • Issue customer statements and manage aged debt, including 90+ day debt follow-up
  • Post receipts and download daily bank transactions
  • Bank customer cheques
  • Act as the main finance support for Amazon debt, reviewing aged balances and resolving queries via the Amazon portal
  • Monitor ‘Accounts off hold’ reports against bank statements
  • Manage and elevate queries from the AR inbox
  • Evaluate credit limits and regularly review credit ratings
  • Process and manage UK & Europe supplier payments
  • Check and reconcile supplier statements and manage AP balances
  • Upload payment files and process additional payments when required
  • Liaise with Customer Services and Purchasing to resolve invoice and shipment queries

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Especially Excel)
  • Excellent organisational skills and outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
