Our Alloa site has a strong historical connection to the local area with over 275 years of heritage in the spirits industry. There is currently an opportunity for a Stand In Furnace Operator in our production team at our Alloa site.

Our Furnace Operators care for our largest asset within the plant. Through training and development, they become skilled operators who monitor and steer our batching and melting processes across the continuous shift operation. They spend 50% of their time in the furnace control room monitoring the outputs of sensors and probes and 50% of their time visiting the furnace area performing visual checks and measuring temperatures.

A successful furnace operator is someone who is inquisitive in their nature and draws success from their consistency with daily routines. They prioritise their safety and wellbeing and that of their colleagues. They know the importance of urgency in the manufacturing process and appreciate that achieving operational targets and efficiencies goes beyond meeting business goals and is our responsibility in creating a sustainable future and preserving natural resources. Experience within a process or manufacturing environment will be advantageous.

24/7 Rotating shift pattern (Dayshifts, Backshifts and Nightshifts including weekend working). Our stand-in operatives cover leave across each shift.

Qualifications:

  • National 5 Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Ability to demonstrate practical aptitude would be an advantage.
