The Role
The primary role is to act on behalf of both employees and employers in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Job Description
- A working knowledge of the law on restrictive covenants, unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, whistleblowing and TUPE.
- To ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and costs.
- Experience in advising and preparing settlement agreements.
- To ensure the confidentiality and security of all of the firmβs and client documentation and information.
- To achieve agreed financial targets, both in respect of fee income and the recording of chargeable hours.
- To work in close liaison with the credit control.
- To maintain clear and precise communications with other staff in the firm.
- To ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.
- To take responsibility for self-development.
- In conjunction with the firm, to comply with the relevant training and professional development requirements of the Law Society and SRA.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer, 2-3 years PQE or equivalent. They will have a good understanding of the needs of and challenges facing a wide range of clients, and the ability to provide sound commercial and legal advice to clients. Excellent client care, communication and legal skills are a requisite, as is a strong work ethic. They will also have the ability to handle a diverse caseload, work to deadlines, and be self-sufficient. The firm is looking for a highly motivated individual with initiative and a flexible results-oriented approach. There are excellent career prospects for the right person, who should view this as a long-term career move.
The Benefits
In return for your commitment, we offer you; 28 days holiday in total each year, plus 8 UK bank holidays each year. In line with the Asylum & Immigration Act, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
