We’re seeking a Senior UI Designer to join the Design System team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role focuses on shaping and evolving the company’s design language across web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android). You’ll play a key role in developing scalable, high-quality UI components that enable product teams to create cohesive, accessible, and beautiful user experiences. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, loves system-level design thinking, and can strike the right balance between consistency, creativity, and usability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the company’s design system — creating, maintaining, and documenting reusable UI components and patterns for use across digital platforms.
- Deliver pixel-perfect, production-ready UI with a focus on usability, accessibility, and brand identity.
- Collaborate closely with product designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure design components are functional, scalable, and easy to implement.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and standardise design patterns to improve product development efficiency.
- Champion system-led design consistency across web and native platforms.
- Design engaging UI elements, transitions, and microinteractions that enhance the user experience.
- Optimise designs for multiple platforms, ensuring consistency across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
- Confidently present design concepts to stakeholders and wider teams.
Requirements for the role:
- Proven experience as a UI Designer, Visual Designer, or similar role within a digital product environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing design craft, attention to detail, and experience in system thinking.
- Hands-on experience working with or contributing to a design system.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, and library management.
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Excellent collaboration skills and experience partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with design tokens and design-to-code workflows.
- Prior experience within e-commerce, marketplace, or fashion-related products.
- Working knowledge of motion design principles and interaction design.
What can they offer you?
- Private health and mental wellbeing coverage, including access to counselling and coaching.
- Salary of up to £85,000.
- 25 days annual leave, plus additional company-wide rest days and volunteer leave.
- Flexible hybrid working, with the option to work abroad for limited periods.
- Pension matching, life insurance, and recognition for service milestones.
