This role focuses on building modern, user-centric digital products as part of cross-functional teams spanning product, design, and engineering. You’ll be working on high-impact platforms, delivering intuitive, scalable web applications used by a wide range of users. This is a 6-month initial contract, ideal for engineers who combine strong frontend expertise with product thinking and a pragmatic approach to delivery.

This is a hands-on product engineering role with a strong focus on frontend development and user experience. You’ll be expected to:

  • Build modern web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Contribute across the stack where needed (Node.js backend services)
  • Work closely with product managers and designers to deliver user-focused features
  • Translate user needs into intuitive, high-quality UI experiences
  • Apply modern engineering practices including TDD, CI/CD, and component-driven development
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams with a strong product mindset
  • Continuously improve code quality, performance, and usability
  • Contribute to design systems and scalable frontend architecture

This role suits engineers who are product-minded, collaborative, and care deeply about building high-quality user experiences.

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong, recent experience with React and modern frontend development (hooks, state management, component architecture)
  • TypeScript in production environments
  • Building scalable, maintainable frontend applications
  • Integrating with APIs and backend services
  • Node.js for backend or full-stack development (desirable)
  • Modern testing practices (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
  • Working in cross-functional, product-led teams

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with design systems and component libraries
  • Exposure to accessibility (a11y) best practices
  • Experience working in public sector or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS)

Why This Contract Stands Out:

  • £400-450 per day
  • Outside IR35
  • Fully remote within the UK
  • Long-term, stable programme of work
  • Opportunity to build meaningful, user-facing digital products
  • Strong product, design, and engineering collaboration
  • Modern engineering culture focused on quality and delivery

This is not a pixel-perfect greenfield rebuild - it’s a real-world product engineering role where you’ll ship features that directly impact users, working within complex systems and delivering tangible outcomes.
