Opportunity: We're supporting an exciting sports related start-up client working with low-latency, real-time tech. Although the business has started in the last 2 years, they’re already profitable, with strong growth trajectory they’ve decided to onboard a talented frontend engineer.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, optimize, and support high-performance user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Integrate and manage real-time sports data streams via WebSockets, streaming APIs, and synchronized state.
- Develop frontend systems capable of efficiently handling large datasets, intensive rendering, and high-frequency updates.
- Create scalable UI architectures with reusable components and well-structured state management.
- Partner with backend engineers to integrate APIs and establish efficient data-exchange contracts.
- Deliver fast, performant applications by leveraging caching, SSR/SSG, and optimization strategies in Next.js.
- Contribute to UI/UX efforts through mockups, prototypes, and component-driven design.
- Apply SEO-best practices, particularly for server-rendered pages.
Core Skills:
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
- Proven frontend performance optimization skills (rendering, memoization, virtualization).
- Experience building real-time, data-intensive user interfaces.
- Ability to efficiently handle large and complex datasets in the UI.
- Working knowledge of Next.js (SSR, SSG, routing, data fetching).
- Capable of creating UI mockups and wireframes for new features.
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals and SSR best practices.
- Solid grasp of responsive design, core web concepts, and browser behaviour.
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
