They have proven product-market fit, their AI-powered platform is already trusted by over 300+ companies worldwide, including global banks, private equity firms, and asset managers. The business is at a defining global inflection point and is accelerating its expansion into entirely new market verticals. To spearhead this next chapter of hyper-growth, they are investing heavily in their technical leadership layer, creating a high-impact engineering environment designed for top-tier talent. They have established an elite culture that balances deep technical strategy with pragmatism, replacing fragmented workflows with highly sophisticated, scalable data platforms and services.
About The Role:
You will be joining as a hands-on technical leader on the Individual Contributor (IC) track, taking ownership of the technical vision and system design for a major expanding engineering division. They value engineers who move seamlessly between deep-dive debugging and high-level system architecture, partnering closely with over 6+ engineering teams to raise the technical bar across the organisation. Beyond driving core Python backend development, you will influence broad technical strategy, participate in governance, and guide cross-team architecture to prevent unnecessary complexity and coupling. This is a high-visibility role where you will set the engineering standards, mentor senior talent, and leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate system delivery.
Requirements For The Role:
- Extensive experience building, delivering, and scaling backend systems from development through to production, specifically within data-intensive environments.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, complex relational domains, and entity resolution/mapping.
- Proven experience with platform modularisation, database decoupling, and service-oriented or event-driven architectures.
- High proficiency in Python (or similar backend languages), alongside familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerisation (Kubernetes).
- A strong product and customer-centric mindset, comfort driving clarity through ambiguity, and a history of end-to-end technical project ownership.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and align both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What Can They Offer You:
- Salary of up to £150,000
- Pension scheme up to 7%
- Private medical
- 1-2 days per week in the office and work abroad for up to 3 months per year
