About The Role - Principal Engineer | AI-Driven Fin Tech, Series C | 1 Day Hyrbid, London | Up to £200,000+ Equity & Benefits This role will be the first Principal hire for the company, it will be high impact and working on the most complex technical issues within the business.

As a Principal Engineer you will be expected to create technical solutions that cut across various teams and work with engineering leaders to roll them out.

You will report these solutions directly to the VP of Engineering.

The client is looking for someone that gets excited by complex technical issues and seeks problems that genuinely are difficult to solve while moving seamlessly between deep technical work and cross-org influence.

Requirements For The Role Extensive experience building, delivering, and scaling backend, platform, front‐end systems from development through to production, specifically within data‐intensive environments.

Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, complex relational domains, and entity resolution/mapping.

Proven experience with platform modularisation, database decoupling, and service‐oriented or event‐driven architectures.

Extensive experience creating technical solutions and rolling them out across different teams autonomously.

High proficiency in Python (or similar backend languages), alongside familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerisation (Kubernetes).

A strong product and customer‐centric mindset, comfort driving clarity through ambiguity, and a history of end‐to‐end technical project ownership.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation and align both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
