A leading commodities trading organisation is embarking on a number of strategic technology and business transformation initiatives and is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a high-performing Front Office and Middle Office technology team. This is an opportunity to work directly with Trading, Risk, Operations, Compliance and Technology stakeholders on a range of initiatives spanning ETRM/CTRM platforms, trading technology transformation, operational process improvement, market connectivity, regulatory change and trade lifecycle optimisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business users and technology teams, helping to define requirements, improve processes and deliver solutions that support a fast-paced trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Front Office, Middle Office and Technology stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements
- Facilitate workshops, process mapping sessions and requirements gathering activities
- Produce user stories, functional specifications, process flows and acceptance criteria
- Support the delivery of trading platform implementations, enhancements and integration projects
- Analyse trade lifecycle workflows across physical and derivative products
- Collaborate with development teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle
- Support testing activities including SIT, UAT and production validation
- Drive process optimisation, automation and operational efficiency initiatives
- Contribute to strategic technology programmes across trading, risk, operations and regulatory functions
Required Experience
- Strong Business Analysis experience within commodities trading, energy trading or financial markets
- Good understanding of Front Office and/or Middle Office functions
- Experience working with ETRM, CTRM or trading platforms within commodities or energy trading environments
- Experience working across trade capture, risk, valuation, confirmations, settlements, reconciliations or reporting workflows
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience delivering complex cross-functional projects
- Strong requirements gathering, documentation and process modelling capability
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to platforms such as Orchestrade, Endur, Aspect CTRM, Allegro, TriplePoint, Beacon, ION, Trayport or similar trading and risk management systems
- Experience supporting platform implementations, migrations, onboarding of new products or business lines, system configuration, workflow optimisation or process automation initiatives
- Knowledge of physical and/or derivatives trading workflows across Energy, Metals, Environmental Products or other commodities markets
- Understanding of pricing, valuation, P&L, risk management, market data or regulatory reporting processes
- Experience working with integrations, APIs, data analysis or SQL
Contract Details
- £800-900/day Inside IR35
- Initial 6-month contract
- Hybrid working (London) up to 3 days per week in the office
- Strong likelihood of extension, estimated 2+ years
