Owen Reed is recruiting a Trade Mark Secretary for a top law firm in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional and proactive individual to join a dedicated Trade Marks team, providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee-earners at all levels.

About the Role

As a Trade Mark Secretary, you will work as part of a specialist secretarial team to deliver high-quality administrative support. You will work autonomously on certain processes while receiving guidance for others, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. You will also support new fee-earners in learning the department’s procedures and troubleshoot or sense-check work to maintain quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting fee-earners with day-to-day secretarial and formalities administration.
  • Preparing standard and more complex letters, ensuring accuracy and flagging issues when required.
  • Working with internal teams (Renewals, Accounts) and external contacts, spotting errors and resolving issues proactively.
  • Learning and developing core secretarial processes with guidance from senior team members.
  • Undertaking any reasonable tasks in line with the role and department needs.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Trade Mark Secretary role will have:

  • GCSEs (at least 5 Grade C or above, including Maths and English) and a secretarial qualification; A-Level or degree-level education with secretarial training is also suitable.
  • At least one year of relevant administrative or secretarial experience.
  • Excellent audio typing and copy typing skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook; working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic experience using Inprotech or similar database systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive approach, and ability to work accurately under supervision and autonomously.
