Location: London (Hybrid – 4 days in the office, 1 day from home)
The Team
The Private Client Department is made up of two closely integrated sections: the legal team and the trust & tax team, working collaboratively to deliver a seamless service to clients. The wider department includes highly experienced professionals such as chartered accountants, chartered tax advisers, and solicitors. The Probate team sits within the legal section and is a well-established, collaborative group consisting of partners, legal directors, senior associates, associates, and dedicated probate specialists. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and knowledgeable team environment.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Probate Executive to support senior team members and partners in the administration of client estates, while also assisting with wider departmental responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with estate administration, including collecting assets and identifying liabilities
- Liaising with third parties such as banks, accountants, and financial institutions
- Obtaining date of death valuations via correspondence and telephone
- Supporting applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Assisting with estate accounts preparation
- Supporting estate tax reporting and compliance matters
- Handling general administrative duties including file opening, compliance, and onboarding
- Drafting preliminary correspondence and legal documents
- Managing electronic filing, document organisation, and archiving
This role also offers a potential pathway to qualification as a Chartered Legal Executive.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong academic background (minimum BBB at A-Level or equivalent)
- Solid administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT proficiency
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
