Owen Reed is looking for a Credit Controller for a top law firm in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. The Credit Controller will play a key role in managing outstanding debt, supporting cash flow, and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
Location: Bank, London
The Role: As a Credit Controller, you will take ownership of the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of invoices while working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the sales ledger and monitoring aged debt
- Chasing outstanding invoices via telephone and email
- Allocating and reconciling incoming payments accurately
- Resolving invoice queries and escalating issues where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client account records
- Preparing basic reports on outstanding debt and payment status
- Supporting month-end finance activities as required
About You:
- Previous experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance role
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Confident and professional telephone manner
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proactive, resilient and results-focused approach
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using finance or accounting systems is desirable
