Job Description

Owen Reed is recruiting a Learning and Development Executive to work within the Learning and Development (L&D) team, which comprises three Senior Managers, three Managers, one IT Training Manager, three Advisers, two IT Trainers, one other Executive, one IT Training and eLearning Coordinator and one Administrator for a top law firm in London on a 15 months Fixed term contract basis.

The L&D team works on a broad range of learning initiatives across the firm. From legal to skills training, we look after the development needs of lawyers, members of Business Services and clients. We are highly regarded within the firm for our solutions-focussed approach and attention to detail.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and confident individual to work in a fast-paced L&D team. This varied role involves coordinating legal and business skills training, along with other members of the team. The job will involve contact with the firm’s partners, lawyers and members of Business Services as well as a key role in various ongoing team projects. The individual must have strong administrative skills and be proactive in managing a varied workload.

The L&D Executive will report into an L&D Manager but will be expected to work with the entire team to provide excellent client service.

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Plan and coordinate legal training for qualified lawyers and trainees across the firm, including flagship programmes:

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Schedule dates and book rooms/facilities

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Liaise with internal and external speakers

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Prepare training materials (often under time pressure)

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Provide on-the-ground support

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Collate and summarise feedback

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Produce regular training updates and reports for the firm’s Corporate practice stream and Associate performance reviews

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Support with the coordination and delivery of the firm’s AI Training Programme

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Maintain and regularly update relevant L&D intranet pages

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Act as one of the team’s experts in using the firm’s Learning and Performance Management System (LeaP)

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Monitor and update relevant areas of the L&D team’s budget

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Provide assistance with ad hoc L&D projects as required, including supporting and occasionally delivering team-led sessions

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Build strong relationships across the firm:

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Engage with lawyers at all levels

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Collaborate with Business Services teams such as HR Advisory and Responsible Business

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Champion the L&D team’s advisory role across the business

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

CANDIDATE PROFILE Degree-educated and/or minimum 3 years of experience in a corporate or L&D environment, with a strong interest in learning and development

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

A confident, proactive, and solutions-focused individual who takes initiative and manages workload effectively

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Demonstrates sound judgement and a common-sense approach

\\n\\n

 

\\n\\n

Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels; professional and credible ambassador for the L&D team

Excellent attention to detail, particularly in written work and grammar

\\n\\n

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively on diverse projects

Technically proficient, with advanced knowledge of:
