Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for a Sewing Machinist for our fantastic client located in the Kingswinford area, our client specialises in the build and design of bespoke healthcare furniture.
Our client has a purpose built, clean factory with lots on ongoing investments going on!
This position will be a 12-week temporary to permanent role with a fantastic career growth.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITHIN SIMILAR ROLE MANUFACTURING FURNITURE
Main Duties
- Sew complex recliner components including seats, backs, arms, and accessories, using industrial sewing machines.
- Work with a variety of upholstery materials, including leather, vinyl, performance fabrics, and patterned materials, ensuring accurate pattern matching and minimal material waste.
- Read and interpret technical patterns and specifications.
- Carry out quality checks on completed pieces, ensuring seam strength, alignment, thread tension, fit, and overall finish meet company standards.
- Maintain sewing equipment and perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance when required.
- Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with industrial sewing machines, including walking-foot and compound-feed machines such as Juki, Consew, Pfaff, Sailrite, or equivalent.
- Previous experience with manufacturing furniture
- Ability to read, interpret, and adapt sewing patterns for complex furniture designs and moving components.
- Experience working with leather, vinyl, and high-performance upholstery fabrics.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment without compromising quality.
- Hours of work
- Monday to Thursday 07:00am -16:30pm
- Rate of pay
