Role Overview: Reporting to the Production Director, the Maintenance Manager will oversee the upkeep, repair, and optimisation of all machinery, equipment, and facilities within the manufacturing site. This is a leadership role that combines technical expertise with team management, ensuring maximum uptime, efficiency, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a robust maintenance strategy to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a proactive and safety-first culture.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly to avoid production delays.
- Oversee facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, heating, and building upkeep.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement by analysing performance data and recommending cost-effective solutions.
- Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers for specialist services.
- Oversee stock of spare parts and supplies, ensuring availability for critical repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, repairs, and compliance audits.
About You:
- Experienced maintenance professional with at least 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
- Excellent problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Managerial experience and knowledge of heating systems, CNC machinery, extraction systems, sprinkler systems.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety practices (RAMS, COSHH, Fire Safety).
- Relevant engineering or maintenance qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, HNC) desirable.
- Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a strong hands-on work ethic.
