You will play a key role in planning and conducting First Article Inspections (FAIRs), supporting quality audit activities, inspection compliance and driving continuous improvement across inspection and quality processes.
The position offers a varied workload, working closely with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams to ensure products are delivered right first time.

Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct First Article Inspection (FAIR) activities in line with customer and industry requirements.
- Complete and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), ensuring compliance with AS9102 standards.
- Carry out quality and patrol inspection audits across manufacturing operations.
- Produce audit reports, quality metrics and corrective action documentation.
- Investigate non-conformances and support root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and company procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, inspection and audit processes.
- Review engineering documentation, specifications and technical drawings.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Support training and knowledge-sharing activities within the inspection function.
Qualifications
- Previous experience within a Quality Engineer, Inspection Engineer or Quality Assurance role.
- Strong experience completing
FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports) .
- Understanding of
AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements .
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or aerospace environment.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of quality audit processes and inspection methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Equipment Experience
- You should be confident using a range of precision inspection equipment including:
- Verniers
- Micrometers
- Depth gauges
- Height gauges
- Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
- Other precision measurement tools
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience within aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
- Experience using quality management systems and ERP software.
- Engineering apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
