Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Up to £73,000 + £6,000 car allowance + bonus
Overview
We're working with a well-respected partnership housing specialist looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for key projects from award through to final account.
This is a pivotal role offering full ownership of cost management, strong client interaction, and the opportunity to influence project performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial control of projects from pre-contract through to final account
- Preparation and management of cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow
- Accurate valuation of works, including applications, variations, and final accounts
- Management of subcontractor procurement, payments, and account settlement
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks across projects
- Leading on contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
- Attending and contributing to client and project meetings
- Building strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain
- Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction (ideally residential or main contracting)
- Strong knowledge of contracts, commercial reporting, and cost control
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement processes
- Solid understanding of valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Proficiency in Excel and commercial reporting systems
A strong commercial mindset and the ability to maximise value recovery while maintaining cost control is essential
