Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00

We’re working with a leading design and manufacturing business and due to growth and upcoming high-value projects, they’re looking to add a Production Design Engineer to their expanding Engineering Design team.

Production Design Engineer Job Description

  • Lead product and electrical design projects, applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to deliver efficient, high-quality, and compliant engineering solutions.
  • Drive new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production, ensuring right-first-time delivery and smooth handover to manufacturing.
  • Produce and maintain CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to reduce cost, boost productivity, and enhance process performance through Lean, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives.
  • Maintain exceptional quality and safety standards, supporting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

Production Design Engineer Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in this role or a similar role
  • Strong electrical design bias.
  • Proficient in CAD (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar).
  • Experience applying DFM principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
