Are you an experienced Vertical Turner or Vertical Borer looking to work on complex, high-value components within a precision engineering environment? Our client is a well-established manufacturer supplying highly regulated industries including Aerospace, Nuclear and Power Generation. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their machining team with the addition of a skilled machinist who can programme, set and operate vertical turning and boring machines.
Job Description
- Programme, set and operate Vertical Turning / Boring machines
- Machine low-volume, high-integrity components to tight tolerances
- Work with a range of materials including nickel alloys, titanium, stainless steels, aluminium and carbon steels
- Prove out new programs and support continuous improvement activities
- Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Carry out in-process inspection using a variety of measuring equipment
- Complete route cards and production paperwork accurately
- Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards
- Carry out routine machine maintenance checks
Qualifications & Skills
- Apprentice trained, Time Served or NVQ Level 3 qualified in Engineering
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating Vertical Borers or Vertical Turners
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
- Experience working within a precision machining environment
- Ability to machine a variety of materials and maintain high-quality standards
- Experience with Fanuc or Siemens controls would be advantageous
- Background within Aerospace, Nuclear, Power Generation or similar industries would be beneficial
Package on Offer
- Competitive hourly rate of £17.82 - £21.17 per hour
