We are currently working with an established and growing business within theenergy and power generation sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Office to join their SHEQ team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental or sustainability professional to take ownership of the organisation’senvironmental management, carbon reduction and sustainability programmes, whilst playing a key role in supporting their wider Net Zero ambitions.

You will be responsible for leading and continuously improving the company's environmental and sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, international standards and customer requirements.

You’ll have a broad remit covering ISO 14001, carbon accounting, Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, climate adaptation, sustainability reporting and tender support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continually improve the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Lead environmental audits, compliance activities and incident investigations.
  • Develop and implement carbon reduction initiatives supporting 2030 and 2050 Net Zero targets.
  • Manage Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, carbon footprinting and greenhouse gas reporting.
  • Lead Scope 3 supply chain mapping and supplier engagement.
  • Produce sustainability reports, KPIs and environmental performance data.
  • Support climate risk, resilience and adaptation initiatives.
  • Provide environmental and sustainability support fortenders, PQQs and Carbon Reduction Plans.
  • Develop environmental policies, procedures and training.
  • Work closely with operational teams, senior leadership, customers and suppliers.

About You

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Full membership of IEMA or CIWEM.
  • Proven experience with ISO 14001and environmental management systems.
  • Strong knowledge ofcarbon accounting, ISO 14064 and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Experience with Carbon Reduction Plans / PPN 06/21.
  • Good understanding of environmental legislation and sustainability reporting.
  • Experience undertaking environmental audits and producing environmental data/KPIs.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills.
  • Experience withinenergy, engineering, construction, utilities or manufacturingwould be advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.
