About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Solar Sales Representative to expand our residential solar solutions across the UK. This role is ideal for a proactive sales professional who excels in direct consumer engagement, lead generation, and closing deals with homeowners and small-scale commercial users. The successful candidate will play a key role in customer acquisition, marketing collaboration, and ensuring a seamless customer journey from initial contact to post-sale support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and convert leads through outbound calls, video consultations, field sales (door-to-door, local events), and participation in roadshows/demonstrations.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to meet and exceed targets.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring internal sales staff and external partners to drive collective success.
Marketing & Promotion Support:
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to refine sales scripts, promotional materials (brochures, presentations), and campaign strategies.
- Provide market insights to optimize outreach efforts.
Opportunity Identification:
- Represent the company at trade shows (e.g., Ideal Home Show), property expos, and community events to generate leads and brand awareness.
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth order processing, site assessments, and timely installations.
Customer Service & Issue Resolution:
- Act as the primary point of contact for post-sale inquiries, resolving concerns promptly to maintain high satisfaction and retention.
Cross-Cultural Communication & Partnerships:
- Support multilingual communication (if applicable) and help build relationships with local partners and community groups.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3-5+ years in B2C sales, preferably in renewables (solar PV ideal), home improvement, or tech. Field sales and lead generation experience is essential.
- Sales Skills: Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing abilities with a proven track record of exceeding targets. CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Marketing Aptitude: Understanding of marketing principles to contribute to campaigns and collateral development.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal/written English skills; ability to simplify technical solar concepts for homeowners. Additional UK-relevant languages are a plus.
- Customer Focus: Passion for delivering outstanding service and resolving issues effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and collaboration across teams.
- Drive: Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger for identifying new opportunities.
- Technical Interest: Quick learner on solar PV tech, financing (loans, PPAs), and UK energy policies (e.g., Smart Export Guarantee).
- Mobility: Full UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
- Right to Work: Unrestricted right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Direct experience selling residential solar PV/battery storage in the UK.
- Existing network in UK renewables or home improvement sectors.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and lead generation platforms.
