Are you an experienced programme delivery professional looking to lead complex, high-value projects spanning more than 20 years? Our client is a specialist high-value, low-volume manufacturer delivering technically complex products and long-term customer programmes. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Programme Delivery Lead to oversee a key strategic programme, ensuring delivery safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex engineering or manufacturing programmes, senior customer relationships and cross-functional teams across planning, procurement, cost, quality and risk.

Job Description

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a complex, long-term customer programme, ensuring key milestones, KPIs and contractual commitments are achieved.
  • Act as the primary customer contact, managing expectations, leading progress reviews and building strong, professional relationships.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, procurement, quality and commercial functions to maintain programme delivery.
  • Monitor budgets, costs and forecasts, supporting commercial decision-making and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Manage programme, supplier and delivery risks, implementing mitigation and contingency plans where required.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, documentation and reporting, while driving continuous improvement across programme management processes.

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading complex programmes or major customer contracts within a demanding environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, cost control and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience managing senior customer relationships, expectations and contractual requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and prioritisation abilities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience maintaining programme plans and documentation, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project or equivalent planning tools.
