Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace industry. They are looking to add a dynamic Quality / Materials Engineer to their team on a permanent basis. This would be a great fit for a meticulous individual who enjoys challenge and variety in their day to day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To support the Quality & Materials Lead in pursuing business objectives.
- To support the enforcement of the Quality Management Systems across the site, ensuring both our products and services consistently meet high quality standards.
- To assist with the identification, development and implementation of process improvements.
- To ensure that all work meets customer expectations on delivery and quality, both internal and external.
- To be flexible, adaptable and move between work areas as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable request by Senior Management Team.
Role Description
- To ensure that agreed customer delivery times are achieved through maintaining product conformity and that customers receive a high standard of service at all times.
- To manage the administration of any non-conformance and corrective action reporting.
- To control the Quality Management System by updating & issuing procedures as appropriate.
- To control the calibration system.
- Participate in investigations and problem solving.
- To participate in actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, process and quality system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to product, process and quality system.
- Control further processing and delivery of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- To support activities to drive close-out of actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance (product, process or quality system).
- To undertake internal QMS audits to ensure product and process conformity and deal with customer and supplier audits on site.
- Support process owners in review and update of process procedures and instructions.
- To prepare certification and shipping documents.
- To archive records as required.
- Provide Materials Engineering support as required: prepare metallurgical reports, work in the metallographic lab etc.
- Collate and publish Quality metrics.
- To carry out any other task as requested by the leadership team.
KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
- Graduate – Metallurgist degree qualified.
- IT literate with Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of SPC would be advantageous.
- Must have a high degree of numerical ability.
- Good communication and problem solving skills.
- Must be capable of working within a minimum level of supervision and of sustaining a fair degree of pressure.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm
- Friday - 8am to 3.30pm
