- Strong experience working with generators within the power generation, engine or associated engineering sectors.
- Excellent electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Proven experience with AC alternators, AVR systems, control panels and generator electrical systems.
- Good understanding of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- A combination of hands‑on site experience and technical problem‑solving ability.
- Comfortable working both independently on customer sites and collaboratively from the Preston office.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for a Senior Electrical Generator Engineer to join a specialist power generation business in a varied role combining office‑based technical work with hands‑on site engineering.
With an approximate 50/50 split between the Preston office and customer sites, the position would suit an engineer who enjoys both practical fault‑finding and providing technical expertise.
