Mechanical Design Engineer Cwmbran, South Wales Competitive Salary + Benefits Permanent | Full-Time | Hybrid Working Owen Daniels are recruiting for a number of Senior Mechanical Design Engineers and Mechanical Design Engineers to join a leading aerospace manufacturer in South Wales. Working within a cross-functional engineering team, you will support the design and development of innovative aerospace products from concept through to manufacture, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and programme requirements. Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace applications. Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation. Support projects through the full product lifecycle, from concept and development to production. Participate in design reviews, testing and validation activities to ensure compliance with requirements. Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver robust engineering solutions. Mechanical Design Engineer Skills / Experience / Qualifications Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Aerospace or Structural Engineering. Previous mechanical design engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Proficient in CATIA V5 or a similar 3D CAD package, with knowledge of PLM systems. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerancing and design-for-manufacture principles. Experience of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and plastics, supported by strong problem-solving and communication skills.
