Job Description

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer? Do you have experience 3D CAD modelling? Have you had previous experience with GD&T or FEA?If so, a leading manufacturer in the Subsea sector is actively looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.Mechanical Design Engineer PermanentASAP StartSalary dependent on experienceKirkbymoorside | 8.30am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 4pm FridayMechanical Design EngineerThe Mechanical Design Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Producing engineering designs (2d/3D), specification and documents
  • Using simulation tools for FEA. Also using GD&T understanding for hand calculations/structural calcs
  • Assisting sales and project teams in the estimation/preparation of quotes and proposals
  • Working closely with shopfloor teams to ensure good understanding around assembly/manufacturing techniques

Mechanical Design EngineerThe ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Proven Mechanical Design experience both 2D and 3D (Solidworks/PDM is desirable but not essential)
  • GD&T understanding and being able to apply hand calcs
  • Experience working within a manufacturing business
