We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Build Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on mechanical professional with a keen eye for detail, working on precision components and assemblies within a tight-tolerance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and fit small mechanical components and engine parts to exacting standards.
- Work confidently with a range of engine components such as pistons, valves, crankshafts, camshafts, and associated mechanical parts.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications, taking concepts through to final build.
- Work with tight tolerances and ensure all assemblies meet quality and performance requirements.
- Use Jira, Microsoft tools, and other software systems to log and track build data and technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve challenges and optimise assembly processes.
About You:
- Proven hands-on mechanical experience in a fitting, assembly, or build environment.
- Comfortable working with small components and precision assemblies.
- Worked within an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of engine parts and their functions within mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Confident working within tight tolerances and quality-focused processes.
- Experience using Jira, Microsoft Excel, or other data logging tools.
- A background in motorcycle maintenance, engine builds, or similar mechanical work would be a distinct advantage.
