We are looking for an experienced and proactive Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team. This role will focus on optimizing current manufacturing processes, improving product quality and production efficiency, and supporting New Product Introductions into production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the prioritization & allocation of manufacturing engineering activities within the business unit.
- Optimize manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive process control and capability to ensure reliable, repeatable production.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, and first-time quality.
- Support industrialization of new products including tooling, work instructions, and validation plans.
- Implement and lead APQP, PPAP, and related readiness and approval processes.
- Conduct structured problem-solving using RCA, 8D, and DMAIC methodologies.
- Define and maintain routings, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation.
- Design and validate tooling, fixtures, and gauging to enhance quality and repeatability.
- Monitor performance metrics (yield, scrap, RFT, throughput) and drive data-led improvements.
- Support technical training on processes, tools, and quality methods.
- Contribute to capital investment projects including equipment upgrades and capacity expansion.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable engineering team leadership experience in a cross-functional, industrial environment.
- Engineering project management experience with a thorough understanding of the associated tools and techniques.
- Experience working within manufacturing engineering within high-spec environments (machining, fabrication, assembly, or similar).
- Proven background in continuous improvement and Lean implementation.
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and 8D problem-solving.
- Skilled in documenting and optimizing complex manufacturing workflows.
