Manual Machinist
Are you an experienced Manual Machinist looking for a new opportunity? Do you have strong experience operating manual lathes, with additional turning experience? If so, this could be the ideal role for you.
Our client, a well-established engineering company, is looking for a skilled and reliable Manual Machinist to join their team in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manual machining, particularly lathe operation, and a good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and machining processes.

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE)

Job Description
- Operate manual lathes to manufacture precision engineering components
- Set and operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Carry out manual turning and other machining operations where required
- Work from engineering drawings to produce components to specification
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for machining operations
- Inspect finished components using relevant measuring equipment
- Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy throughout the machining process
- Ensure machinery, tooling, and the work area are maintained to a high standard

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist
- Strong experience operating manual lathes
- Manual turning experience would be highly beneficial
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and measurements
- Experience using standard workshop measuring equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
