Head of Quality to join a global engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within the highly regulated aerospace sector.
The business designs and manufactures highly engineered products for demanding aerospace applications, operating within a quality-critical environment where product integrity, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement are fundamental to its success.
This is a senior leadership position and a key member of the Site Leadership Team , with responsibility for leading the Quality function and shaping the quality strategy across the division.

The Role
Head of Quality , you will take overall responsibility for the Quality function at site level, leading a team of 12 direct reports and working closely with the wider Senior Leadership Team to drive quality performance, compliance and continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing an effective Quality Management System, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements while embedding a strong culture of quality throughout the operation.
This is a role for someone who can operate strategically at SLT level but is equally comfortable getting into the detail when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of 12 Quality professionals, building technical capability and creating a high-performing Quality function.
- Own and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with aerospace, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Work as a key member of the SLT, influencing operational strategy and ensuring Quality is embedded into business and manufacturing decisions.
- Lead the internal and external audit programme, corrective actions, non-conformance management and customer quality requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement through structured problem solving, preventative quality techniques, performance measurement and Lean methodologies.
- Monitor and improve key quality metrics including customer satisfaction, Cost of Poor Quality, product quality and supplier performance.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Programme Management and customers to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

What We're Looking For
- We are looking for an experienced Quality leader from an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally with exposure to a highly regulated industry such as aerospace or automotive.
• You will need
- Proven experience leading a Quality function within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing and developing Quality teams.
- Strong knowledge of
AS9100/AS9110 and relevant aerospace regulatory requirements.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, audits, corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Quality tools such as
FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP and 8D .
- Experience of project and change management.
- Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to operate credibly at
Senior Leadership Team level , whilst still being able to engage with teams on the shop floor.
- A genuine leadership mentality, with the ability to develop people, influence culture and drive change.
- A degree in Engineering or a related discipline, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt and AS9100 Lead Auditor experience would be advantageous.
