Owen Daniels are partnered with a leading engineering business who are seeking a Head of Engineering, on a permanent basis. As the Head of Engineering, you will lead the engineering design, manufacturing engineering and testing teams. You will lead new future product designs and innovations and also maintain the current product portfolio. You will have the responsibility to drive engineering changes across multiple products and processes and continuously improve engineering activities. This includes control and allocation of your team resource according to the priorities and projects assigned to you.
Job Description
- Ensure that engineering design, development, testing and change management is conducted to agreed deadlines, cost, quality and standards.
- Drive quick resolution of technical problems and advise the team.
- Ensure all engineering changes are documented in line with the common engineering organisation standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and safety regulations to all allocated products during full lifecycle.
- Control and allocate resources according to priorities and projects assigned.
- Ensure resources and cost can be attributed to projects for effective project cost control.
- Identify and manage opportunities for improvements in processes and projects to drive continuous improvement actions.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure successful delivery of all engineering change activities.
- Manage and develop local technical competencies in accordance with the company strategy.
- Manage communication, training and implementation of agreed regional and global engineering practices and standards.
- Responsible for all Health and Safety activities under the team.
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
- HND or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Experience as an engineering manager with complete responsibility for product, people and budget (P&L experience essential).
- 3D CAD experience (ideally in CREO).
- Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
