An opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer has become available with a leading manufacturer of specialist vehicles, in Coventry. The successful Electrical Design Engineer will join the engineering team and will be responsible for wiring and harness designs using Zuken, for the design and development of best-in-class vehicles.
This is an established OEM business who have a great portfolio of products, so you can expect a variety of work as well as benefit from working on new designs for projects being launched through 2025.
Electrical Design Engineer – Responsibilities:
- Responsible for generation and delivery of concept and manufacturing design definitions, based on technical specifications, requirements, relevant standards, and other constraints
- Responsible for the conceptual development of new product solutions in the scoping phase of programmes.
- Quality, Cost and Delivery approach to project requirements and new designs.
- Participate in developing and maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures
- Problem solving on existing products and product improvement
- Evaluating technical issues in order to develop proposals for investigations and solutions
- Planning, controlling and delivering assigned projects, ensuring requirements are delivered to plan, budget and costs
- Preparing and delivering progress reports against project plans
- Keep up to date with relevant technology developments in appropriate technical areas, developing skills and capabilities, and giving support and expertise to others as required
- Support a continuous improvement culture across the Engineering team, contributing to a high performing environment
Skills & Experience Required:
- HND or Degree qualified in a relevant electrical engineering subject
- Proven background electrical design for automotive and vehicle wiring systems
- Skilled in ECAD, in particular Zuken E3 or similar ECAD suite
- Create detailed schematic and harness diagrams
- experience of engineering projects through full lifecycle
- Ability to fault find electrical circuits
- Work within mixed disciple engineering team
