Job Description
- Program, set up, and operate CMM machines (using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar).
- Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to develop accurate measurement routines.
- Generate detailed inspection reports and document measurement results.
- Liaise with manufacturing, design, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes.
- Ensure CMM equipment is maintained, calibrated, and operating to required standards.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles effectively.
Requirements:
- Technical qualification such as degree, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC, level 3 or above
- Extensive calibration & CMM knowledge
- Proven experience as a CMM Engineer or Quality Inspector in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CMM programming (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and metrology principles.
Desirable:
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or high-precision component industries.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality management systems.
