Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. OW develops, finances, builds and operates offshore wind farm projects all around the world. We are seeking an experienced lawyer, based in the UK, to support the development and delivery of offshore wind projects, with a particular focus on EPCI contracts.
Main Accountabilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex EPCI contracts and associated documentation for offshore wind projects.
- Advising on contractual risk allocation, liabilities, warranties, indemnities and interface management.
- Support procurement strategies and tender processes, including bid evaluation and contract awards.
- Provide legal support during project execution, including claims, variations and disputes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
Required Academic Skills
- Degree in law required.
- Must be Scots or English law qualified with up to 6 years PQE.
Required Professional Experience
- Experience of advising on EPCI contracts within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of construction law, offshore risks and project finance interfaces.
- Proven ability to negotiate high-value, complex contracts with international counterparties.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure/energy projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC, logic and other standard form construction contracts.
