About Ovyo: Ovyo is a professional services company specializing in the satellite, telecommunications, media, broadcasting, transportation and many more sectors. Our management team is located in the UK and Portugal and we have technical teams based across other European countries, the US and India.
One of our clients is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join them on a 2 week project, hybrid working out of London. Here your objective will be to work closely with stakeholders to collect technical and functional requirements crafting a clear, comprehensive Request for Proposal to effectively communicate needs to vendors or service providers.
Responsibilities:
- Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with IT, facility managers, security, and end-users to identify wireless network needs
- Conduct Site Surveys: Perform or oversee predictive and physical wireless site surveys to assess RF environment and review existing infrastructure compatibility.
- Document Specifications: Define technical specs and requirements for security, scalability, and system integration.
- Develop RFP: Create a clear, vendor-neutral RFP with project objectives, technical requirements, scope, evaluation criteria, and timeline.
- Support Vendor Selection: Assist in evaluating vendor proposals to ensure alignment with project goals and requirements.
Requirements:
- Proven track record working as a Solutions Architect / Senior Network Engineer
- Experience working with Wifi technologies including 802.11 standards, WiFi-6 onwards WLAN design
- Experience working with wireless solutions including Cisco, Aruba and Fortinet
- Experience working with wireless site survey tools Ekahau, AirMagnet
- Understanding of networking protocols and security standards
