UAV Pilot (A2 CofC)

UAV Pilot (A2 CofC)

Full-Time On-site
O

Most commercial drone work is one-off jobs and long gaps between them. This one isn’t. Within a month, you’ll be part of a national building inspection programme across hundreds of residential and commercial blocks, with a full forward schedule into late 2027.

Ovrsite is a UK building intelligence company. We capture visual and thermal imagery of roofs and façades, run it through our AI-assisted defect analysis, and turn it into reviewed evidence that property and building safety teams act on. The quality of everything those teams act on depends on the imagery the pilot brings back from the initial drone survey.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and fly site-specific missions on occupied residential and commercial buildings, under the applicable category, our operational authorisation and Ovrsite procedures.
  • Assess airspace, weather, access and ground risk, brief the site team and make a clear go or no-go call.
  • Capture complete visual and, where specified, thermal imagery to the inspection plan, and check coverage before leaving site.
  • Keep flight logs, checklists, permissions and equipment records accurate.
  • Work in a two-person crew, whilst developing our trainee pilots.
  • Look after aircraft, batteries and sensors, and feed back on how we can capture every site better than last time.

What you need

  • A current A2 CofC and Flyer ID.
  • Real flying experience around public structures, with the judgement to stop when it’s not safe.
  • Flight planning experience on DJI Flight Hub 2, Drone Harmony, UGcS or similar.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • To live within a reasonable commute of our Hertfordshire base. You’ll start and finish the weeks there to unload/load the vehicle and kit.
  • Willingness to work away from home several nights a week on regional legs of the programme.
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A GVC or RPC-L1.
  • Radiometric thermal capture.
  • Photogrammetry or survey flight planning.

What you get

  • Use of a company vehicle for work.
  • Overnight accommodation and subsistence on away weeks.
  • Employee benefits package.
  • Industry training and courses paid for by the company.

Early start available. If you’d like to ask any questions before applying, email ruari@ovrsite.co.uk for more information.
